Day One - 30 DoT
Whoops, ok, first of all, I forgot to link back to Beth for 30 Days of Thanksgiving. She's hosting it y'all, so if you haven't signed up yet but meant to, go do it now before you forget too!
Ok, so it seems that I forgot from last year what we were supposed to do for this. The idea is to show our thanks and appreciation to those in our lives who make our daily walks easier by sending them a little note of encouragement. Having been the recipient of these little love notes from time to time, I can tell you first hand how wonderful it is to receive a word of encouragement! So I am committing to sending a little love note - one a day for the next 30 days - to someone who blesses me. (Knowing me, I will likely send them by email. I'm a pretty good letter-writer, but a terrible letter-sender.)
I also publicly committed to give thanks in difficult circumstances for the next 30 days. See the last post.
So, the first one to receive a love note will be my husband. I will give it to him when he gets home. I will hand write this one! He's very good to me. Better than I deserve.
This morning when I woke up, my very first thought was "Ohhhh, it's still dark out! Why do I have to get up in the dark??" So today I thank God for shining His light in the darkness. Though it is now cold and dark in the morning when I have to get up, my gracious God is with me.

Bless your beautiful heart my friend, love you.
LOL Thanks for clearin' that all up! *wink* Since DaHubby's b-day is the 4th, I'm saving his for then!
When the storms seem to overwhelm our lives, and yet we still PRAISE GOD, that is showing our true love for our Lord and our faith in Him!!!
One of my favorite songs is, "Blessed be the Name of the Lord," - there's a verse that says, "...when the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say, blessed be the Name of the Lord, blessed be Your Glorious Name!"
No matter what, HE will never let us down - HIS love endures FOREVER!
Love you Anita!
Marilee
Anita,
God will bless you for your faithfulness in thanking Him.
Years ago my husband finally told me that I was negative about everything. That was an eye-opener! Ever since then, I have tried to look on the bright side of things and asked God to help me see things through His eyes. I still have to work on it sometimes, but it makes you feel so much better to expect the good instead of the negative.
I like the song that Marilee mentioned. A good song!
Even the darkness is light to You, Lord.
Giving thanks makes us feel good. It lifts our spirits, even if we're having a bad day or facing bad circumstances. I think it's because taking time to be thankful makes us realize how much worse off we could be.
