You won't believe what just happened...

I am at work right now and we just got a visit from some Jehovah's Witnesses!

I sit right at the front of the office and you can't get into the office with out me seeing you. So they stopped and asked if they could leave some "reading material" for our break time. I politely declined, saying that I have examined and rejected their teachings as being unbiblical and they quickly left.

I wish I had had more time and an opportunity to speak the true gospel to them! If you have a minute, will you please pray that the Lord would direct these lost souls to people and places where they will hear the gospel in truth and purity? Thanks!

That is a wonderfully direct, honest answer without a trace of hostility.

You are doing so well on the witnessing front! I agree with Sara - you go girl!

Also, DaHubby works with two JW's - one of which is an elder at his church. *sigh* DaHubby has said on more than one occasion how sad it is because under other circumstances, those two men and their wives might be really good friends.

We're stunned and amazed at their beliefs and pray for them often.

And, I will pray for you and those you encountered today too. (((hugs)))

Thanks Beth. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but my father-in-laws family (except for my fil) are JW. To keep family harmony we stay away from discussing "religion", so praying for them is the best thing we can do. It's sad and frustrating though.

You handled that so beautifully my friend. I will be praying for them, and others like them.

I might have just said, yes, to make them go away. But you handled it so well!

Excellent response! I would hope that I could come up with such a resonse as well. I would be more likely to wimp out and take it and then just throw them away. But I'm hoping that as my faith matures so will my responses. I would certainly NOT allow their "reading materials" to grace any table anywhere I worked.

Some Mormons came by our home last spring. My husband just happened to be home for lunch at the time and invited them in. He talked and discussed and debated with them for at least an hour. Then they made another appointment to come back a few days later...they didn't know he was a lutheran pastor. they ended up coming here 3 times, then something funny happened. Hubby was doing a service at the nursing home in town and guess who showed up? The Morman missionaries. They heard his voice and peaked into the room where he was conducting the service and litterally backed away. We never heard from them again. Although any time we see them walking or riding their bikes around town (before winter obviously) we would pray for them, that some of the truth told to them would sink in and that the Holy Spirit would show them the one and only True way!
Your response was short and to the point, not much else you can do during work hours. Praying for them is the best thing you can do!
Blessings-Andie
(Sorry it's been so long since I've been to visit, just busy I guess...We had a bunch of snow this week, too...but not THAT much!)
