Home Tour, Advent 2008
Yesterday Alli and I had fun putting up Christmas decorations. Our family tradition is decorate our Christmas tree on the last Saturday of the church year - which was yesterday. That's the day that we get out our Christmas decorations and get the house all dressed up for Christmas. We listen to Christmas music and have hot chocolate while we work. It's fun! Even though Advent doesn't technically start until today, I like to have the house looking like the season for the start of Advent.
Here is our finished work:

The Advent wreath with the first candle lit

In the dining room. Notice that the teacups that Debbie gave me have pride of place *smile*.
We put up twinkle lights throughout the house. It gives off a pretty glow.
More twinkle lights...
The mantle with stockings. Its hard to see in this picture but there are little baby Christmas trees on the mantle amongst the candles and pinecones.
Snowman collection.
And Santa collection.

And finally the tree. We have a wimpy little tree! I have it loaded down in lights and ornaments in an effort to bulk it up *grin*!
What does your house look like? Let me know if you put up any pics.

So pretty! This is my first year doing Advent candles.
Well, of course I'm interested!!! :D
Everything looks so lovely!! I like the little trees on your mantle. That is so neat!
Our house looks normal...doesn't make sense to decorate when we leave on Friday. We'll probably put up the tree in the States so we feel in the season.
Oh so pretty!! Can u come and decorate mine for me? :) I'm doing the minimum this year cuz I'm a bit busy with the baby.
Your house looks beautiful and so welcoming :)
Have a very wonderful Christmas!
What a lovely tree. And you are right... the twinkling lights do add a pretty glow.
