A last minute night out

Why is it that impromtu plans are the most fun? My husband called about 20 minutes ago to tell us that he had been given 4 tickets to see the Rangers game tonight! (That's the Kitchener Rangers, Sara. Sorry!) We didn't have anything planned so woo hoo, let's go! We decided we'll grab a quick burger or something on the way and make it a family night out. I called the box office to see if we could get one more ticket, but no, they are completely sold out in our section. I was SO disappointed. We need 5 tickets - there's 5 of us. But....it turns out our oldest has plans anyway (he's 17 and is starting to get his own social life) so yippee!! Game on again!

I promise to have a longer post tomorrow - I have been working on some thoughts for Sara as well as considering who I would like to honour with a Mercy Drop. Thank you very much, Beth, for thinking of me. I agree, it is truly humbling to be thought of that way and makes me all the more aware of the awesome privilege we have to encourage and edify one another. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward works of love and good deeds." (Hebrews 10:24)

Have a great evening everybody!

Let's Go Rangers! Hockey is the only sport I've ever followed - haven't in years though. My first game was a sabres game. The best was Islanders vs. Rangers. It ended in a tie (do those still exist in hockey?) but just to feel that rivalry was amazing. and of course the best year was when they had to stop chanting "1940." What was that 1994?

I clicked the link you provided. Wow, you north of the border folks take your hockey seriously. How old are those kids? They look so young and so stern!

I forgot to tell you about the time I went to a hockey game on a date with a young man and his 11 year old sister. There was a minor scuffle on the ice which required someone coming out to scrape up a tiny bit of frozen blood. My date told his sister that they save it to make the red line. I think she bought it. Ahh, those were more innocent times.

Glad you got my message, kiddo, and I hope you are having a wonderful time!

And, being married to a Yooper, he's already got BIG plans to teach our 2 yr old how to ice skate this winter. As more of a "city girl" and a "Troll" (someone fron "under" the Mackinac Bridge), I'm petrified! LOL It doesn't help that her 4 yr old cousin and her 10 yr old cousin are already on a hockey team! LOL

Blessings on your weekend!
