Things that make me go hmmm
Just some things that I get to wondering about...
- Debbie - do you have a southern accent? In my head you do not. And your writing is perfectly unaccented...
- Lisa - have you ever bumped into a celebrity? Living in L.A. you must have seen somebody famous at some point. Come on now, dish!
- Leeann - are you by any chance British? For some reason I think that you are. Perhaps it's because you have a friend who is a butler. That just seems so British to me.
- Leigh Ann - When are you gonna give me the recipe for that cake????
- Sara - How are you honey? I miss you so.
- Eileen - WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU????
- Shortybear Denise - Why teddybears? There's a cute story, right? I think they are just like you - cuddly and sweet!
- Homeschoolin' Denise - If it's not too personal, I was wondering who is the picture on your blog of? Is it you? The reason I ask is because if it is, you don't look anything like I picture you in my head. Kind of like how the DJ on the radio never looks like you picture, I guess *grin*!
- Sharon('s Roses) - Have you found the bat yet? *Sly wink*
- Sharon a.k.a. Lady of Value - Can I come live with you?? Pleeeeaaaase? I am SO tired of The-Winter-That-Would-Not-End, and the Sunshine State looks so lovely. I promise I will behave.
- Rusha - I was right, wasn't I? I knew it!!
- Kari - What's your favourite cereal? Ok, that one I stole from a meme, but I already asked you your question a while back which was, "Do you know the Hillbilly Housewife personally?" You know, because you both live in Virginia and all.
- Allison - This is kind of personal/serious...I always wonder how you and Brian are able to maintain your long-distance relationship? I admire that so!
- Holly - Since I have taken the bold step from "lurker" to "commenter" at your blog, may move you up from "The Daily Rounds" to my "Friends" section? Just trying to be polite, *wink*, I'm going to do it anyways.
- Beth - Did you take the picture that is in your banner? It is breathtaking!
Have a good weekend, y'all! I'm doing some more painting this weekend...pictures to follow, I promise!

Hello sweet one, hope you have a great weekend. I look forward to the pictures. Now, to tell you the story behind the teddybears. Back in 1992, I became best friends with a young woman by the name of Leanna. She collected teddybears, so I was always buying them for her. In January of 1993, she unfortunately passed away. Her mother gave me the teddybears that I had given to Leanna, plus some other teddybears that had belonged to Leanna. Of course, I truly cherished those teddybears, and grew to really love collecting them myself. I now have somewhere around 100 stuffed teddybears. I also collect glass figurines of teddybears, and musical snowglobe teddybears, and pictures of teddybears. So, there is the story behind the teddybears. Oh yea, I guess I also like teddybears, because they remind me of myself, short&sweet, and always looking for something to eat, lol!!!
Hey, sweetie...re: my banner pic. The one I used to use at Faithprints and initally here at Blogger was one Da Hubby took in Northern Michigan near a cabin we stay at.
The current pic is also from Da Hubby and is from his recent trip to Northern Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness...where we also honeymooned! *wink* There is a 1 ft by 3 ft version of my banner photo hanging in my living room!
If you are serious about liking the pics, Da Hubby is attempting to get a small venture off the ground to sell copies of those photos. Click on the "northernbranches.com" link at the top of my right column at my bloggy home! Browse your little heart happy! LOL
Have an amazing weekend! Good luck with your painting!
*snicker* *snort* *snicker*.......
I was cracking up over this....I so wanted to call you so you could hear my southern drawl. You know, my daughter's friend has one of those things on her myspace page that lets you leave a vocal message. Wouldn't it be neat if we could do that? Oh Lord, we would then read each other's post with the actual person's voice in our head. That's a scary, but funny, thought to me.....*grin* I may check that out.....
You probably don't label me with the southern accent because you know...we are sistahs! lol
Well now...I think I'll remain a mystery for you ;)! I hope my blog to convey Christ's heart and be somewhat in the background so that He shines. Even in my everyday living posts. I happened simply by lovely 'quirk of surfing' upon Mr. Fielding's blog. A quirk I am grateful for!! I'd like to leave my 'background' for my own information...not as a tease nor out of 'fear or anxiety'. I truly want the Lord to be blessed by my writings and have Him be the main focus of my blog. ;).
HT - Not a problem! Nobody is under any obligation to provide an answer to my "wonderings"...although I am enjoying the responses! Maybe I have started a new kind of meme...I think I'll call it a youyou, hee hee hee!
Anita, check out my bat update I just posted recently. ;-) I loved this post of yours!
These were so great, Anita! Yes, I've seen a few celebrities, but not too many as I don't hang out in the places where they are more easily spotted, eg. West LA, Beverly Hills, Melrose Ave, clubs, movie premieres, etc.
I have personally seen: the guy who played Lex Luthor in the Superman movies with Christopher Reeves. I don't know the actor's name, but I saw him at an antique store on Melrose and he was really short.
At Universal City Walk, outside of Universal Studios, Hubby and I saw Muhammad Ali. He was walking very slowly and did not look very good healthwise. I felt sorry for him.
Last summer outside the California Science Center Museum I walked past Eric Balfour, who plays Milo Pressman on the tv show "24". Love that show! He was very tall.
Last year we all met Jeremy Camp at a Christian Concert Event called Fishfest. He's very nice and likes "Lost". His favorite character on the show is Hurley.
Hubby met Arnold (pre-governor days) and has a picture with him. My husband is 6' 2" and is much taller than Arnold. I didn't see him, but thought I'd share. :-)
And this weekend we saw...
(you'll have to go to my blog to find out... )
Aaaahhhh!! Leave me hanging like that?!? Off to your blog now...
Sorry, couldn't resist.... chuckle...
Actually, it is an ancient secret recipe that I can't give out on fear of the curse coming down upon my head.
No, really it is quite simple. I just have to remember to post it. Basically it involves making a hot milk sponge cake into a jelly roll and a large pancake. You put cherry jelly in the jelly roll and cut it into slices. Line a bowl with the slices. Whip up a large bowl of whipping cream and stir in some canned sweet cherries. Put the cream into the bowl with the jelly roll slices and plop the pan cake on top. Put it into the fridge until the cake is well chilled. When you are ready to serve put your serving plate over the bowl, flip the bowl and the cake will come out in the shape of the bowl. Slice carefully and guard your piece even more carefully because my husband and son might be lurking around:-). I will have to make another one soon and take pictures of the process to post on the blog.
Yep that's me. And that handsome guy is my fella. I don't know how many times I've said the same thing about people. I mean really, how can you tell how tall a person is by the things they write? But I have often said I thought they were taller.
By the way my son wants to know what you thought I looked like. I guess I've turned out the way he thought I would.
