Who are YOU to tell me it's a mistake?
Came across this today at USAToday.com - it's a review for a book called The Feminine Mistake. The review begins...
'The Feminine Mistake' is a well-crafted cautionary tale for
women of all ages.
Its basic message is passionate and unflagging: Women
who depend on men for economic stability do so at their own considerable peril.
Go ahead and read the rest if you have a strong stomach.
The author's main objection to allowing my husband to support me financially is that, should our marriage come to an end, I may find myself alone and *gasp!* POOR!!
Gee, thanks for the warning.
I guess it does no good to point out for her that I put my trust in neither myself, nor my husband, but in the Lord to provide?

I've often worried about "what if something happens to Da Hubby?" so I've kept my teaching credentials current but you are SO right. It really isn't about him supporting us or me supporting myself...it's about God providing! Thanks for the reminder!
Right on! Strange to be the minority these days :(.
You know, it's funny, I AM employed - I work about 25 hours a week while the kids are at school - but I still think of myself as a SAHM, probably because I'm home when the kids are. I still become offended when someone belittles the contributions of SAHMs. On the other hand, I have also experienced scorn from "full-time" SAHMs because I work outside the home. Sigh. Whatever. It works for us and I have no doubt in my mind that I am serving exactly where the Lord would have me.
HT: I do have your new blog in my bookmarks, I've just been too lazy to update the sidebar. Discourteous of me, I know. I'll fix it now, 'kay?
Amen my friend, I totally put myself in Gods hands, not mine, or my husbands.
Thank you ;)!
