I'll be unashamed
After a summer hiatus, I return to teaching Sunday School today.
Please pray for me as I teach, and for the little ones who have been entrusted to me.
I find that it's so easy to fall into the trap of preaching "ought tos" to the kids. "Jesus wants us to do this, and Jesus wants us to be like that." Or, "Because we love Jesus we ought to be like (insert Bible character) and do (insert virtuous behaviour).
Lord, please don't let me be like that! Let me speak the GOSPEL to these precious ones. Let them hear of your grace and mercy toward them and let your Word accomplish it's purpose.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes Romans 1:16

It can be hard to teach and it is an awsome (in the old fashioned sence of the term) responsibility. I think the Lord gives us a sence of that to help us see that we can't do it on our own and to keep us reliant on Him. On the other hand though just remember that if you have been called the Lord will help you. He has promised that his word will not return back void.
I will pray for you and you can pray for me.
That is so wonderful! I will keep you in my prayers! I think that you must be a wonderful Sunday School teacher. Your faith is so beautifully strong and you share it so eloquently.
I have found memories of my Sunday School teachers. It is an important role in a little one's life. I'm very excited for you!
Didn't catch this until Sunday afternoon...so I hope everything went well. I pray in agreement that you were/are able to reach out to the little ones.
Teaching little ones is such a great, and scary responsibility! Lots of work, but the rewards are wonderful! I teach the 1st - 3rd graders this year, all girls :-), quite a change from last year when I had the two year old/toddler class! What age do you teach? How did it go?

Awwwww...... I know you will be a blessing to those children.
You're already starting out on the right foot by having the burden to teach about our Savior's love. That's the most important thing.
Have you ever checked your email? I haven't received a reply and was just wondering......
I am praying for you, I know you will do an awesome job.
I wonder if I did that last Sunday?
Yes Lord, I too pray that You will speak through Anita and use her to reach these children exactly where You know they need to be reached and in a way that will glorify You, inspire the children to always hunger and thirst after righteousness. I also pray that You will comfort Anita and give her peace that she is doing Your will! In Jesus name I pray, Amen
Hey there my friend!
How did it go?? I taught the K-2nd kid's church on Sunday. I'm in the once a month rotation. It went pretty well, though I'm quite "rusty" in the teaching department. God warmed me up through VBS this summer, haha!!
Sorry to hear about Sara, but I'm glad she's still visiting!! I can understand her need to take a break!
Hugs,
Lisa
