My daughter headed off to Ottawa again this morning, this time for the Lutheran Church Canada National Youth Gathering.

The theme of the gathering is "i am". Have you ever seen those "I. Am. Canadian" commercials? Where the guy stands up and talks about what it is to be Canadian? Well, this is a take-off on that, as well, of course, as a reference to the Great I Am. The focus of the retreat is going to be learning more about who they are in Christ.

I am so pleased that they chose to hold the gathering in Ottawa. If you ever get the chance to visit Ottawa I highly recommend it. It is an interesting old city. It's not too large, very clean, very pretty and lots and lots of things to do and see. One of the planned activities this week is for a prayer vigil on Parliament Hill. Imagine 600 teenagers decending on Parliament to pray and intercede for our country! What a witness they will be!
